Growing up the youngest of five sisters, I learned about teamwork, making connections, and navigating relationships at an early age. I always knew I wanted a career helping people.
After earning dual Bachelors of Art in Women’s Studies and Sociology, with a minor in African and African American Studies from the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University, I worked a few years in the non-profit sector, then began my corporate career at Nestle USA. I spent a decade with Nestle providing corporate HR support to employees from the entry level up to the CEO and Chairman.
Shifts in businesses’ approach to employe relations and the MeToo movement inspired me to start my own firm. That era highlighted the need for better HR, to ensure employees and employers are protected in their workplace. Because a solid foundation of HR policies isn’t just about protecting your business. It lets your employees know you value them, leading to job satisfaction, and higher employee retention.
